Looking at your GUITAREST “Trio” Support on YouTube, it looks great.  I’ve been looking at a few different supports, and am undecided which one I want – I’m definitely leaning toward yours.

If I get it and it really doesn’t fit the way I play, what is your return policy?

Thanks very much,

S. Taylor

Hello Mr. Taylor, thank you for your question.

For whatever reason if you decide to return the GUITAREST I will be happy to refund your full purchase price upon return of the merchandise.  The initial shipping cost of $5.00 plus the return shipping would be your responsibility, however I would be happy to offer you a full credit for that amount to be used towards any of the transcriptions on the site.

There are a variety of ways to attach the GUITAREST and the neck height easily adjusts as well.  I do have a buy 2 get 1 free special at the moment.

Have a great day.

Warmest Regards,

Subject: Flamenco Model Guitar Support?

Date: July 19, 2013 8:27:56 AM EDT

While watching your guitar rest clip, you mention you are developing a rest specifically for flamenco players. Is that product available yet, and if not, when do you think it will be?

My lower back and hip would be very happy to play with both feet on the floor and the guitar in a high position. - Russ

Hi Russell,

My experiments with the flamenco version have turned into an entire revamp of the line-up with tweaks to the original one as well.  Specifically, a larger frame for greater range especially to achieve a higher neck angle.

The FlamencoLoco support is now available.  (follow the link)

The existing support (with the new 1/2" larger frame) will work on any guitar.  The difference with the special flamenco version is that it will address the "cool" factor that most flamencos desire.  It will be all black, leather strap, and foldable on the fly, so players can sit traditional cross-legged or use the support as needed. Essentially a variation on the existing theme.

Both supports will work for you.  It is a matter of whether the colour and foldability is important.

Warmest Regards,

Diego

Subject: Guitarest Return Policy

I trust the GUITAREST “Trio” will work. However, what is your return policy?

TVT

I am happy to refund the purchase price of the "GUITAREST" in full upon return of the product.  You would, however, be responsible for the shipping to and from.  I am sure that you will find it useful, practical and well built.  It also serves as a great gift for your guitarist friends.

If I can be of any further service, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Warmest Regards,

Subject: Guitar width & finish type?

I just watched your video and your product looks great!

I have a "parlour" sized or 3/4 guitar. The width at the curve is 9.6cm and towards the bottom of the guitar it ranges from 10cm closest to the curve to 10.4cm further away.  I wondered if your design would accommodate this size.

Also, according to one site from another product they recommend an additional product if your guitar has a matt finish.

The Kling On Guitar Support Protector ($6.95) is suggested for use with matte finish guitars or French polished guitars.

I would not want to damage my Art & Lutherie "Ami Nylon Cedar" guitar.

Thanks for your help!

Linnea

Hello Linnea, thank you for your inquiry.

Yes the GUITAREST should fit your guitar.  I use mine mostly on my flamenco guitars which are 9.2 cm wide at the waist.

As for the finish, the “GUITAREST” is meant for use on a high-gloss finish.  For a matte finish an adhesive plastic product like the Kling On product is necessary.

If you are unhappy with the "Guitarest" in any way you can return it for a full refund of the purchase price.  You would be responsible for the shipping to and from, however in that scenario I would offer you an equivalent credit towards any transcription on the site.

Hope this letter has been helpful.  Have a great day!

Subject: Fit in Taylor Case?

Date: December 12, 2012 1:12:12 PM EST

Hi, I am very interested in your GUITAREST TRIO.  Can you tell me if it will fit in the standard storage compartment of a guitar case? I have a Taylor 814ce and the deluxe case that it came with. If it will not fit there would it fit in the case under the neck of the guitar? If it will fit under the neck does it come in any kind of soft bag that would prevent scratching of the neck.

I want to avoid the need to carry something additional when transporting it.

Looks like a great product!!

Thanks,

Michael

Dear Michael, thank you for your inquiry.

Yes, the Guitar Support will fit in both the headstock area and the storage compartment of your Taylor case.  At the moment I don't have a soft bag for storage in the headstock area.  If it's in the storage compartment, then of course it is not an issue but I understand that it is nice to make full use of the case and any storage areas available.

I hope this has been helpful.  If I can be of any further service, feel free to contact me.

Subject: Re: Heavy Duty Instrument Case Strap inquiry

Sent: Thursday, August 9, 2012 8:44:59 PM

I am interested in the heavy duty instrument case strap and would like to know the max load for this strap.

My old strap breaks at the joint where the clasp rotates, so I would like to know if this strap is good for my load (alto sax with several music books).

I would also like to know if this strap come with any warranty.

Thanks,

Barry

Hi, thank you for your inquiry.

The strap is rated for 200 kgs and comes with a 2 year warranty on material defects.  It is the consumers responsibility to ship it back for replacement.  I have not had any break so far.  I have used the best materials I could find.

If I can be of any further service, please feel free to contact me.

Subject: Electric guitars, too?

Date: December 23, 2011 1:46:18 PM EST

My son plays electric guitar, sitting for practices.  His folding foot stool broke, cheap metal.  Will your GUITAREST GUITAR SUPPORT fit his narrower bodied guitar? I just measured the width and both his guitars are only 1 to 1-1/2 inches.

Thank you,

Roland

Hi Roland, thank you for your inquiry.

Unfortunately the guitar support will not accommodate a guitar this thin.  Using only one cup, the support loses lateral stability.  Try using a leather guitar strap and cut a new adjustment hole higher up (on the side that attaches to the butt of the guitar) so he can wear it higher for seated practice.

Subject: Taylor Guitar Finish / suction cups

Date: December 26, 2011 1:19:41 PM EST

I am very interested in your product, the guitarest. I wanted to know your experience with how the suction cups affect the finish on Taylor's. I have a beautiful custom that I would die if anything were to happen to it. Will the suction cups leave marks or ruin the finish?

Erich

To be completely honest, my experience with the Taylor finish is limited to about 7 months (**see follow up below).  Within that short time I have not seen any scuffing from the cups.  However, just to be certain, I would send you a few strips of static-vinyl (NON-ADHESIVE base) that I have been experimenting with.  You apply the static-vinyl between the guitar and the "GUITAREST Trio”and the suction cups never touch the finish.

**Follow-up to answer April 16, 2014

I have been using Taylors now for 3 years with no scuffing whatsoever from the cups. This static vinyl mentioned has become the FiniSHIELD which protects all guitars from scuffing and by negating any inconsistencies in the finish also provides a rock-solid attachment for the cups.  (*for use with High-Gloss finishes.  Not for use with Nitrocellulose Finishes)

Subject:   Guitarest shipping to Australia

Date: October 27, 2011 2:03:07 AM EDT

I have had three spine operations i find after playing for a while my becomes very sore using a foot rest.  I am interested in purchasing the GUITARESTDo you ship to Australia, and the cost of?

Robin

The GUITAREST Trio ships worldwide for $5 US.  The Buy 2 Get One Free special ships for $8 Worldwide.  The purpose of the GUITAREST is to hold the guitar for you while you remain in a normal seated position.  It should serve to help you back and increase your playing/practice time with more comfort.

Subject:   Suction Cups and Nitrocellulose Finish

Date: November 21, 2011 11:44:34 PM EST

I have some marks from the suction cups on the body of my guitar.  I rang the luthier and he said that suction cups may damage a nitrocellulose finish.  He also said that just because there are marks from the suction cups it does not necessarily mean that there has been any damage, but to keep an eye out for any.  Are you aware of any problem with this type of finish based on the material the suction cups are made of?

I don't wish to stop using the GUITAREST as it makes playing lots more comfortable but I also don't want to damage the finish on my guitar.

Derek

Derek, thank you for your question.  It is important that people understand the delicate nature of nitrocellulose.  I doesn’t contain the plastics of a “poly” urethane and so has a more relaxed vibrational quality which makes it desirable.  Gibson and Martin still use it (exclusively I believe) on their guitars.  The GUITAREST is NOT recommended for use on a nitrocelullose finish.

If however, someone has used suction cups (or anything else creating a reaction) on their nitrocellulose finish, all is not lost.

First, NEVER use furniture polish to try and buff it out.  I have had excellent results with ‘Dunlop Formula No.65.’  If a deeper treatment is needed, try ‘Planet Waves - Restore Deep Cleaning Cream.’

Diego

Subject: Case Strap

Date: November 21, 2011 4:08:31 AM EST

I was curious about the case strap you sell. How does it work exactly? Would I have to drill holes into my hard case? Does it come with all the components or the strap only? Does it only hang on the shoulder on one side as seen in the picture or can it also be across the chest like a bag? Thanks for your time.

Sheldon

Hi Sheldon,

It is a strap only. It is meant to be used on a case that already has the “D” ring riveted on.  Yes it can be used across the chest like a bag.

Warm Regards,

Diego
